Have you ever had a thought that directly inflame negative emotions? Do you suffer from any anxiety disorders where these negative emotions inflict even shittier thoughts that continue to exhaust you and make you feel like an even bigger bag of shit? Been there. Here's the thing about your brain. It's always looking to solve things and it hates being idle. If things are good, your brain will start to think of things that make you feel fucking awful. Want an example? Good. Let's say you're working out at a gym. You see someone and have an interaction with them. It wasn't bad and it wasn't great either. No big deal right? Wrong. In many cases, especially if you're an anxiety sufferer you're brain is going to tell you you're an asshole for that mediocre interaction. These thoughts will bring up emotions of sadness, disgust and even envy for other individuals who can interact with people "better" than you. Or let's say, for example, you're in a committed relationship and you look at another woman and say..."fuck she's hot". This thought brings on an instant rush of guilt or pain. Then you're stupid brain starts to question why you thought that and why there's now a pit in your stomach. Should you leave your wife? Girlfriend? Boyfriend? Companion? Baby Momma? Should you stop thinking? No. Keep thinking and fucking love all the weird shit your brain stirs up. The thing about thoughts...is they're just thoughts. They aren't actions and they can't hurt anyone. You dream right? Remember that dream where you rode a unicorn butt ass naked and cut your shitty bosses head off? Yeah that was fucking sick, and a dream. I don't think you woke up feeling bad about the dream...if anything you laughed it off or told your buddies about your fucked up dream and they laughed too. No harm no foul. So what the fuck am I saying? Thought (good, bad, sexual, murderous, seductive, satanic...whatever) = Dreams. Understand its just your braining turning and throwing out obscure messages. With that said, it's important to remember when you have a thought that's persistent...than there is something more to it. For instance, if you wake up and have a consistent thought that you hate your job with a burning passion, then you likely need to address your unhappiness and acknowledge you're brain for identifying something that's poisoning your soul. With the exception of consistent thought a good amount of time your brain will think of self defeating shit and completely fuck with you.
Remember its just a thought and its a direct part or you...and you're pretty fucking awesome (especially if you're reading this post). Thoughts don't define you. Actions do. The sooner you accept your thoughts as a part of you the sooner you'll appreciate yourself and produce better actions. Next time you have a thought you consider "wrong" and you wanna beat yourself up about it...remember its a thought and it doesn't matter what it's about. So keep on thinking all that weird jib jab...you'll thank yourself later.
